In summer 2018, I finally made it to one of the world’s most romantic island – Santorini, Greece. I was absolutely amazed! It just has so many beautiful postcard scenes to explore.
I stayed at the Charisma Suite in Oia, a very northwest town on the island. Oia is just the perfect town to stay to be not too close to crowds of tourists in Fira not too far away from all the fun you want to explore. What is more important, those famous blue domes are in Oia!

When I am traveling, one of my favorite things to do is to exploring un-famous yet cute spots. I just enjoy to see local lives and feel so accomplished when I find a hidden gem. This trip was of course no exception. And here is what I found – a lovely rooftop not belong to anyone’s home, a local resident’s front door with cute flowers, and a tiny cozy bookstore!

Santorini also has a lot yacht tour and water activities offered. Thought I was only able to try one yacht tour, but I indeed fall in love with the one I went. It was the Santorini Yachting Club’s 4.5hr private sunset tour. It all began with a private car pick up from hotel to ferry. Once sailed into the Aegean Sea, we first stopped near a remote island to enjoy the quality fun time in the ocean – swimming, jumping off the deck, and snorkeling as much as we wanted. Then we went to the volcano area where the mineral water were so good for my skin to get a mini spa. Followed by a thumb-up vegan dinner onboard, which was prepared by the crew with fresh local vegetables and fruits. Before the sunset time came, I got quality time to enjoy a good sunbathing on the deck while breathing the fresh air. Sunset was the most unforgettable scene from the tour. We were able to enjoy a private and crowd free spot to watch the beautiful sunset over the Aegean Sea.

Last but not least thin I want to share here is the secret to stay away from crowds and get clean pictures at Santorini. Yeah that is right go out for sunrise not sunset! I wake up early, as usual ( so happy I am a morning person), to go enjoying the exclusive town and sunrise. They are all yours. Everything was so quite in the early morning. That peaceful atmosphere made me felt refreshed and happy. Fun fact, when I was on-boarded to my yacht for the tour, the sailor recognized me and said”hey it’s you, I saw you early this morning when you were taking photos with sunrise. I was the guy running with my dog and passed by you couple of times!” Ah ha what a lovely coincidence🤗🤗

I hope you have enjoyed this post of what my first time in Santorini looked like😉.
